The Beijing China-Japan Innovation & Cooperation Demonstration Zone (CJIC) aims to boost international collaboration on scientific and technological innovation as well as industrial cooperation and development. In January 2022, it saw the registration of nearly 30 innovative enterprises, including Xinmingguanjia Business Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Huiran Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Xingruihongfang Biotechnology Co., Ltd., with a total registered capital of over CNY 400 million. These enterprises engage in innovative segments such as advanced intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine and industries related to "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", and they are leading players in their sectors with competitive technologies, products and market shares.

At the same time, the International Innovation Centre for Advanced Batteries and Materials has been officially established in the Demonstration Zone. The center was initiated by Enpower Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., the world's "hidden champion" in the segment of solid-state battery technology, in collaboration with Professor Ryoji Kanno, top expert in Japanese solid-state battery, and Professor John Goodenough, a Nobel Prize winner and "father of lithium batteries".

Beijing Xingrui Hongfang Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a national high-tech enterprise in the field of cell and gene therapy relocated to Beijing, is in the forefront across China in a number of fields such as tumor immunotherapy and innovative cell therapy for AIDS. The newly built International Innovation Center for Advanced Batteries and Materials is located in the high-end manufacturing area of CJIC. With an area of 4,000 square meters and a total investment of CNY 300 million, the center focuses on the manufacture and integrated application of international advanced industrial battery materials to promote the establishment of solid-state battery industry chain in the demonstration zone, drive the development and growth of relevant industrial chains and meet the huge market demand brought by mobile electrons, electric vehicles and new energy storage, contributing to the efforts of building Beijing into an international center for innovation.
