I. Overview
HKCCC was officially established as a chamber of commerce in Beijing in 1993 according to the articles of association, approved by the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and registered at the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Operating as a non-profit and non-governmental organization, HKCCC focuses on business and social engagements. Since its establishment, HKCCC has remained dedicated to serving the interests of Hong Kong residents and enterprises, fostering economic and trade collaborations as well as cultural exchanges between Hong Kong SAR and the Chinese mainland. Through its executive committee, functional groups and interest groups, the chamber has strengthened relationships with corresponding entities and businesses in the Chinese mainland, hosted social events like cultural and recreational ones, and conducted commercial, economic, and cultural exchanges with the chambers of commerce from various countries and regions in China.
HKCCC has been maintaining good and strong ties with governmental authorities at all levels in the Chinese mainland, the government of Hong Kong SAR, and other relevant entities. The chamber has been frequently invited by governmental departments and commissions to participate in and jointly organize a range of governmental and business events, and has been encouraging its members to attend such events, including thematic lectures, policy interpretations and discussions, symposiums, seminars, business exchanges, investment conferences, exhibitions, business visits, and research sessions. These events keep HKCCC's members informed on the latest economic policies and market trends, foster cross-sector business collaborations, and enhance the presence of Hong Kong-based enterprises in the Chinese mainland's market.
HKCCC emphasizes membership benefits by regularly organizing different cultural and recreational events to enable its members to share diverse experiences of living in the Chinese mainland. In addition, HKCCC provides Hong Kong residents working and residing in the Chinese mainland with necessary support to help them better adapt to local communities and enjoy their lives. Looking ahead, HKCCC is committed to enhancing services for more Hong Kong residents and enterprises in the Chinese mainland.
