Under the permanent theme "Global Services, Shared Health", the Thematic Exhibition on Health Services of 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) is scheduled to take place at the Shougang Park in Beijing from September 12 to 16. This year, the health services section will be organized by Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events Co., Ltd. for the first time, under the leadership of Beijing Municipal Health Commission, with Chinese Hospital Association providing academic support. Through the implementation of a cooperation model featuring government leadership, professional enterprise operation and support from national-level social organizations, they aim to continually develop the thematic exhibition into an integrated, open platform for facilitating international trade, scientific and technological innovation, people-to-people exchanges, and investment cooperation in the healthcare services sector.

Scheduled to take place at Hall 6 of Shougang Park, the Thematic Exhibition on Health Services will focus on biomedicine innovation, smart medical care and new quality productive forces, distinctive traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) healthcare, and aging and health. It will feature three exhibition areas dedicated to the health industry, public welfare, and TCM respectively, covering a total area of 6,300 square meters. The thematic exhibition will welcome 88 globally leading and innovative enterprises as well as distinctive medical service agencies specializing in drug & medical device development, innovator drug innovation, digital & smart medical care, and healthcare management services. These participants will showcase advanced technologies, products, equipment, and medical solutions in the global health sector onsite or online, covering the full spectrum of health services, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation. As of now, 100 percent of the exhibition area has been occupied, and 35.3 percent of exhibitors are international companies. Notably, 35.2 percent of the exhibitors are Fortune Global 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises.

During the thematic exhibition, 21 high-level, international industry exchange activities such as the Capital International Medical Congress, the International Forum on Public Health, and the Global Health Industry Knowledge Alliance Forum, alongside supporting events including promotional business talks, achievements release, policy interpretation, science popularization lectures, and interactive experience activities, will be held, aiming to promote the high-quality development of health services and the medical health industry in all respects.

The Thematic Exhibition on Health Services of 2024 CIFTIS will highlight the following features:

I. Bringing together industry leading enterprises and medical institutions to present the latest achievements in the development of new quality productive forces. The health industry exhibition area will bring together dozens of Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leading enterprises, medical device giants at home and abroad, international pharmaceutical giants, leading innovator drug enterprises, "little giant" enterprises, foreign-funded medical institutions, and other renowned brands. By then, many products featuring advanced technology and strong market influence will be exhibited for the first time.

In particular, in the public welfare exhibition area for high-quality development achievements, 20 national medical centers, pilot public hospitals for high-quality development and sci-tech industrial parks will present cutting-edge medical research and scientific and technological achievements as well as their application. For example, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital (BTCH) affiliated to Tsinghua University will globally debut the prototype of its Yttrium-90 selective internal radiation therapy (90 Y SIRT), marking China's first independently developed end-to-end intelligent management system for organoid and biological sample processing. Meanwhile, Beijing Tiantan Hospital will introduce the world's first AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment robot designed for stroke clinical evaluation.

II. Pooling quality resources from the TCM industry to support the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese culture. At the TCM exhibition area, 38 institutions from Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Hunan, Guangdong, and Guangxi will participate in the thematic exhibition onsite, with seven national TCM service export bases demonstrating new international service capabilities.

Meanwhile, the 3rd Beijing TCM International Consumption Week will be held, where popular TCM products, immersive TCM experiences, and intelligent TCM services will be showcased to highlight new TCM culture, form, pattern and consumption. BTV's Yangshengtang column, in partnership with The Herbal Chamber, will host live streaming events throughout the fair, featuring authoritative experts and exhibitors engaging in TCM science popularization and introducing distinctive technical products and the advantages of TCM services.

III. Fostering international exchanges and cooperation in all respects to promote the high-quality development of health services. This year, the health services section will also host 21 high-level, international forums and conferences, encompassing public health, international cooperation in health services, medicine innovation, digital & smart medical care, artificial intelligence in medicine, cancer prevention and treatment, and TCM health, among other fields.

Notably, the Capital International Medical Congress will be held on September 13 under the theme "Developing New Quality Productive Forces, Embracing a Bright Future of Health Together". The congress will facilitate in-depth discussions and exchanges of ideas on such topics as the prevention and control of major diseases, the application of artificial intelligence in medicine, one health and proactive health, the development of integrated service systems, and innovation-driven development of health technology, during which a series of significant achievements will also be released. Additionally, four parallel forums, namely, the Sino-French Medical Day, the First China-SCO International Forum on Emergency Medicine, the China Patient Safety Forum, and the Digital & Smart Medical Care and Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Innovation Forum, will be held.

During the thematic exhibition, dozens of health science popularization lectures will be held to raise public awareness of health and provide them with proper scientific knowledge and guidance in this field. Moreover, the thematic exhibition will feature a series of contract signing, business talk, and achievements release events. This will create a top-tier platform for domestic and international medical and pharmaceutical enterprises, along with medical service agencies, facilitating the application of achievements and the signing of trade agreements. Ultimately, this will give a significant boost to the further development of the global pharmaceutical and health industry.
