The 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will be held in Beijing from September 12 to 16. The Thematic Exhibition on Telecommunications, Computer & Information Services ("TCT Exhibition"), as a vital technological component of CIFTIS, has always been in the spotlight.
Themed "Technology-empowered Digital Trade Innovation", the 2024 CIFTIS ICT Exhibition will comprise two exhibition halls respectively for communication technology and metaverse, and seven exhibition areas respectively for telecommunication services, artificial intelligence (AI), smart life, intelligent manufacturing, "little giant" enterprises, international innovation incubator, as well as a cutting-edge metaverse technology innovation and application experience center. The exhibition will spotlight key sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, AI, big data and computing power, cutting-edge technologies, future industry, coordinated development of industries across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and other popular industries. It will also closely track trends in the next-generation Internet and consumer electronics industries, represented by universal large language models (LLMs), digital human, and virtual reality (VR). With this in mind, we will work with all stakeholders to jointly build an impactful ICT industry exhibition, with a view to boosting the development of the digital economy industry through the integration of new technologies and experiences.
As enterprises accelerate digital and intelligent development, AI is set to emerge as a cornerstone of social infrastructure. Since 2023, three Chinese communications carriers - China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom - have delved into the realm of AI-based LLM. In the span of just a year, they have all completed a new phase of LLM evolution, and have begun to overhaul R&D and application strategies within the communications industry, with a specific focus on LLMs, thereby accelerating technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
China Telecom pays particular attention to the development of the model's underlying capabilities and has proposed the "1+1+1+M+N" strategy early on. This strategy involves one intelligent computing cloud base, one universal LLM base, one data base, M internal LLMs, and N industrial LLMs. With the release of TeleChat, a collection of LLMs, China Telecom has established a comprehensive LLM layout, covering everything from semantics, speech, and vision to a fully integrated multimodal framework.
China Mobile launched "Jiutian Intelligent Base", an LLM incorporating localization into full stack development, consisting of three components: 10,000P computing power, a 100 billion parameter model, and a convergence platform. Impressively, this LLM achieved top performance in model evaluations across 11 domains, boasting capabilities that rival 90 percent of GPT-4. Additionally, China Mobile has strategically positioned 17 industrial LLMs, catering to government affairs, healthcare, and office applications across various industry segments.
China Unicom unveiled the Yuanjing "1+1+M" LLM system, comprising one foundational LLM, one LLM base, and M industrial LLMs. The Yuanjing MaaS platform offers a model library, toolbox, and native app store, with the model library housing over 150 models, including universal LLMs, industrial LLMs, and fundamental small models.
The "little giant" enterprise exhibition area at the CIFTIS ICT Exhibition has always been a tech magnet, drawing significant attention. This year, within the communication technology exhibition hall, the "little giant" enterprise exhibition area will undergo a comprehensive upgrade. The revamped exhibition will showcase cutting-edge technologies and latest achievements of enterprises in six future industries: Future Information (Langboat Technology, Baicells, LLVISION, Huayi Boao, and YDME), Future Space (Galactic Energy and Guodian Gaoke), Future Manufacturing (Vizum and Idriverplus Technology), Future Material (Beijing Graphene Institute, Beiye Functional Materials, MIGSEMI, and Advanced Medical Technologies), Future Energy (SinoHy Energy, Soaring, and Yuanchu Technology), and Future Health (Microread Genetics, Imunopharm, Quanmag Healthcare, and Evolyzer).
The 2024 CIFTIS ICT Exhibition is ready to go, offering a platform for Chinese enterprises to foster new business opportunities in the global market and bolster their international competitiveness. This will further propel the innovative development of digital service trade, contributing to the global progress of digital trade.
