The No. 4 Blast Furnace will be designated as a new venue for the exhibition area of the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). Following the completion of its renovation, the blast furnace is scheduled to open during this year's CIFTIS as the exhibition complex of Shougang International Exhibition Center.
The No. 4 Blast Furnace, located within the Industrial Relic Park in the northern part of Shougang Park, was shut down in 2008. The renovation project preserves its original structure and appearance, while new exhibition and meeting halls have been established on its eastern and northern sides, matching the existing style, to achieve a harmonious blend of history with modernity, and industrial heritage with trendy elements.
The furnace has two floors. The first floor houses an exhibition hall, a cafeteria, and other spaces. The second floor features an expansive conference hall with a capacity for 1,000 people, which can be used for forums, meetings, promotions, negotiations, release of achievements, and other sub-events of CIFTIS. A 12-meter, two-story exhibition hall has been established on the east side of the blast furnace, corresponding to the two-story structure of the blast furnace, for holding large-scale exhibitions.
The brand new blast furnace will be unveiled during this year's CIFTIS.
