The China Futures Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) announced the following arrangements meant to further implement the opening-up of the financial sector and facilitate the qualification of personnel who hold overseas futures professional qualifications for futures practice in the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (the "two zones" for short):

1. Procedures to apply

Overseas personnel with futures professional qualifications from countries or regions listed in the List of Countries/Regions Recognized for Overseas Futures Professional Qualifications (Appendix 1), on condition of passing the Chinese laws and regulations exam for futures professionals, may then proceed to fill in the Application Form for Futures Professional Qualifications for Use in Specific Free Trade Zones (Applicable to Overseas Personnel) (Appendix 2) and send it together with all other application materials to zige@cfachina.org for filing with the Association.

In doing so, the applicant will thereby obtain the Certificate for Futures Professional Qualifications Examination without the necessity of taking the fundamentals exam. The application shall be submitted by an employer futures or securities company on behalf of the applicant employee for such qualifications which are only applicable for provision of services within the "two zones" in Beijing.

2. Materials required

A. Application Form for Professional Futures Qualifications in Specific Free Trade Zones (Applicable to Overseas Personnel);

B. Scanned copy of identification document;

C. Scanned copy of work permit and residence permit.

In 2011 and 2018, the Association respectively announced procedures for professionals from Hong Kong and Taiwan to apply for futures professional qualifications in the Chinese mainland. For further details, please refer to Appendix 3 and Appendix 4.

To make it more convenient for overseas personnel, the Association plans to adopt an English version of the laws and regulations exam for futures professionals in March 2021. Overseas personnel may choose from either the Chinese version or the English version while results of both versions are equally effective.
