【Application acceptance locations】 

1. Beijing Government Service Center: Service Desk A101, Island A, F1, No.1, West 3rd Ring South Road (Southwest Corner of Liuliqiao), Fengtai District, Beijing;

2. Sub-center of China (Beijing) Intellectual Property Protection Center at Beijing Government Service Center: Service Desk No.5 and No.6, Service Hall, F2, Tower A, China Technology Exchange Center, No.66, North 4th Ring West Road, Haidian District, Beijing;

3. Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Government Service Center: (Service Desk for General Affairs), Block 2 (Southeast Corner), No.48, Xinhuadongjie, Tongzhou District, Beijing.

Acceptance conditions: In accordance with the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China, the Implementing Regulations of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Guidelines for Patent Examination, the following conditions shall be met:   

i. A written request of patent shall be included in the patent application documents; and the request shall indicate the type of patent applied for, as well as the name and address of the applicant.

ii. A description and claims shall be included in the application documents for a patent for invention; a description, drawings and claims shall be included in the application documents for a patent for utility model; and drawings or photographs of the design as well as a brief statement shall be included in the application documents for a patent for design. 

iii. The characters, graphics, handwriting, lines and other elements used in the application documents shall meet the relevant requirements. 

iv. If the applicant is a foreigner, a foreign enterprise or a foreign organization, the applicant shall meet the provision stipulated in the Clause 1 of Article 19 of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Patent Law), and the country to which the applicant belongs shall meet the provision specified in the Article 18 of the Patent Law.

【Application materials】 

1. A written request of patent: a written request of patent shall be included in the patent application documents; and the request shall indicate the type of patent applied for, as well as the name and address of the applicant (individual or entity that files the application).

2. Application documents: A description and claims shall be included in the application documents for a patent for invention; a description, drawings and claims shall be included in the application documents for a patent for utility model; and drawings or photographs of the design as well as a brief statement shall be included in the application documents for a patent for design. 

The appointed agency: According to the Article 18 of the Patent Law, where any foreigner, foreign enterprise or other foreign organization having no habitual residence or business office in China applies for a patent or has other patent matters to attend to in China, it shall appoint a patent agency that is established in accordance with the law to act as its agent. Where any Chinese entity or individual applies for a patent or has other patent matters to attend to in the country, it may appoint a patent agency to act as its agent.
