In the first quarter of this year, the combined added value of Beijing's industrial and information software sectors surpassed CNY 400 billion, accounting for more than 35 percent of the city's GDP and reaching a record high.
The added value of the industrial enterprises above designated size grew by 6.8 percent, 0.3 percentage points higher than China's national average. From January to February, the revenue of the information software enterprises above designated size achieved double-digit growth, with a total revenue nearing CNY 500 billion, up 10.3 percent year on year. The information software sector ranked first among all sectors in Beijing in terms of both the amount of added value and the growth rate. Driven by the accelerated construction of major projects, key industrial sectors attracted investments totaling CNY 22.38 billion in the first quarter, soaring by 23.1 percent year on year. Investments in the information software sector reached CNY 48.62 billion, up 1.8 times compared with the same period last year, highlighting the strong momentum behind the city's industrial economy.
