In 2024, the added value of Beijing's digital economy sector reached CNY 2 trillion, marking a year-on-year growth of around 7.5 percent.

Statistics show that there are more than 2,400 AI enterprises in Beijing, with the scale of the relevant core industries exceeding CNY 300 billion. In 2024, Beijing continued taking AI as the key driver to boost the development of its digital economy, as witnessed by the official inauguration of China's first AI data training base, and the deployment of intelligent facilities in 600 square kilometers of the city's high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone.

In 2025, the city will accelerate the deep integration of both the digital economy and real economy, and promote digital industrialization and industrial digitization from multiple aspects. The annual goal is to achieve an 8-percent growth rate in the added value of its digital economy sector, contributing to more than 45 percent of its GDP.

As shown in Beijing's Report on the Work of the Government  in 2025, the city will launch an "AI +" action plan, and encourage the launch of AI application scenarios in key fields such as healthcare, education, and advanced manufacturing, to enable the better integration of AI applications into the daily lives of the residents.
