The 2024 session of the SWIFT International Banking Operations Seminar (Sibos), which has been referred to as the "Olympics" of the financial sector, began on October 21 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing and will run until October 24. This marks the first time that Sibos has been held in a Chinese mainland city after 43 sessions.
In this session, more than 10,000 guests from over 150 countries and regions have convened in Beijing for in-depth discussions and professional exchanges under the theme "Connecting the future of finance" and other related topics.

The number of meetings confirmed for this session has exceeded 250. In addition to industrial meetings, this year's Sibos also features opening and closing ceremonies, discussions on critical subjects, etc.
Sustainability has always been a focus of Sibos. For the first time in Sibos' history, the Beijing session has achieved 100 percent green power supply for all the venues. In an effort to establish the session as a carbon reduction benchmark for the Asia-Pacific region, a variety of measures have been implemented, including the provision of rentable and reusable booth construction modules.
Sibos is a landmark international conference for the financial industry organized by Swift (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication), a global industrial cooperative. The seminar, which first took place in 1978, is rotated among international financial centers in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The 1991 and 2009 sessions were held in Hong Kong SAR.
