The 2024 Beijing CBD Forum was opened on June 5.

A number of significant outcomes were achieved at the forum. For example, at the first Beijing CBD Multinational Corporation Conference, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed a cooperation agreement with Beijing CBD Management Committee to explore zero-carbon CBD practices and establish a platform for green development innovation. The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) also signed a cooperation agreement with the Beijing CBD Management Committee to jointly promote international arbitration to resolve cross-border disputes for companies and investors in the district.

In 2023, the tax revenue of the CBD functional area was nearly CNY 130 billion, marking a 10 percent year-on-year increase. More than 12,000 new enterprises were registered, representing an over 20 percent increase year-on-year. There are 145 buildings with tax revenue of over CNY 100 million in the functional area, an increase of 14 over the same period last year. So far, the number of regional headquarters of multinational companies in CBD functional area has reached 114.

Looking ahead, the CBD area will strengthen its international development orientation and continue to implement the "CBD Headquarters Development Plan". This initiative will elevate a group of existing companies to headquarters level and bring in new headquarters enterprises. Additionally, the CBD will expedite the development of an international financial hub and the creation of an international commercial district with a scale of CNY 100 billion.
