On September 3, the first-ever edition of the Beijing High-end, Precision and Sophisticated Industries Development Index Report (hereinafter referred to as the Report) was released at the Forum on Future Industry Frontiers and Enterprise Innovation in New Development Paradigm of the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services, highlighting a remarkable growth by 2.66 times in the city's high-end, precision and sophisticated industries development index from 2014 to 2021.

The indicators of the comprehensive index in the Report include industrial foundation, structural optimization, innovation-driven development, efficiency improvement, low carbon, and open development, showcasing the progress in high-end, precision and sophisticated industries in Beijing since 2014. The calculations reveal an impressive 84.93 percent surge in Beijing's science and technology financial development index over the last seven years, making it the primary contributor to the enhancement of the industrial foundation index. The rapid progress in science and technology finance has effectively boosted the revenue levels of high-tech enterprises. 

The high-end, precision and sophisticated industries are complex economic activities that rely on a broad network of highly knowledgeable professionals. In this regard, Beijing, with its highest economic complexity index across the country, provides a favorable environment for the growth of enterprises. Moreover, Beijing also emphasizes transitioning its development mode, relying on technological innovation to drive total factor productivity, thereby, fueling the continual upgrading of the economic structure centered on high-end, precision and sophisticated industries.
