Contracts for 19 major projects of the medicine and health industry were recently signed in the Zhongguancun Life Science Park.
Parties to the contracts included leading companies on the Fortune Global 500 and Fortune China 500 lists, major investment funds, important institutions, and globally competitive Chinese medical companies led by well-known scientists. As they work in a wide variety of crucial areas for industrial development, including technology, space, capital and services, cooperation with them will further accelerate the gathering of global innovative elements, expand the Life Valley's international influence, and better serve Beijing's development toward an international center for innovation.
When the contracts were signed, Changping District released the spatial layout plan for the Life Science Innovation Corridor. With the Zhongguancun Life Science Park as its core, the corridor extends northward along the axis of the Beijing-Xinjiang and Beijing-Tibet expressways. In the next three to five years, approximately 4.5 million square meters of high-quality medicine and health industry space will be added to the corridor. Meanwhile, guided by the Three-year Action Plan for the Development and Building of Changping Precinct (Life Valley) of the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (2023-2025), Changping District will look to focus on four main aspects of development, namely comprehensively improving innovation, optimizing industrial clusters, expanding opening up, and keeping enhancing the environment for development, so as to keep with the district's overall positioning as a sci-tech innovation precinct in the free trade zone. In particular, great efforts will be launched for breakthroughs in technological innovation capacity, openness and development, and the quality of industrial development.
