In 2022, Beijing's total imports and exports reached CNY 3.64 trillion, up 19.7 percent over 2021, accounting for 8.7 percent of the total imports and exports nationwide. With its new record of import and export scale, Beijing ranked first in the country, contributing 19.9 percent to national import and export growth.
Beijing made steady progress in the trade with countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, with the annual total value of imports from and exports to them increasing by 28.2 percent and accounting for 43.7 percent of its total import and export value. In 2022, the total value of Beijing's imports from and exports to the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Russia increased by 52.3 percent, 19.7 percent, 10 percent and 42.1 percent respectively.
It has been learned that the Beijing Customs District successfully hit new records for the overall customs clearance time in 2022, which were 25.53 hours and 0.57 hour for import and export respectively.
