Recently, the Symposium on the Innovation and Application of Key Technologies in the Metaverse and Launching Ceremony of the Metaverse and Digital Economy Innovation Alliance (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Events") were successfully launched in the Virtual Reality Industrial Park of Zhongguancun Shijingshan Science Park. The Events were directed by Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST) and the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Shijingshan Science Park, hosted by Beijing Internet of Things Intelligent Technology Application Association, and organized by Leyard.

As an alliance certified by BAST, with Beijing Internet of Things Intelligent Technology Application Association playing a leading role in it, the Metaverse and Digital Economy Innovation Alliance attaches importance to the current development of the digital economy and the metaverse industry in Zhongguancun Science City, Huairou Science City, Beijing Future Science City, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and 16 industrial parks of the Zhongguancun Science Park. Based on the technology and market needs of the key enterprises in the metaverse and digital economy sectors in Beijing, the alliance gathers diversified innovative resources from universities and scientific research institutes, enterprises of the relevant industry chains, national societies, municipal societies and industrial parks to establish a comprehensive service platform for technological innovations of metaverse, digital economy and other related sectors. It is also one of the first pilot industrial innovation alliances in Beijing. 

At present, the digital economy sector has become a significant engine driving a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation around the globe. As a new development area of digital economy, the metaverse sector integrates cutting-edge digital technologies and the wisdom of the cultural industry, drawing attention from the cultural sector, the scientific and technological sector, the financial capital sector and enterprises after being applied in various application scenarios in all walks of life. Authoritative institutions estimated that the market scale of the metaverse sector is expected to achieve USD 800 billion by 2024 and USD 1.5 trillion by 2030.

Zhongguancun Shijingshan Science Park will join hands with more industrial organizations, universities, scientific research institutes and high-quality enterprises to establish an innovative platform for the metaverse industry that encourages cooperation, shares opportunities and promotes cross-border integration and symbiosis. Meanwhile, its Virtual Reality Industrial Park will gather innovative resources in the metaverse sector to facilitate technological innovation, industrial applications of relevant technologies, and cooperation between enterprises, universities and research institutions, to jointly explore the new development trends and directions of the metaverse industry in the new environment with new formats of business.
