Daxing District is located in the south of Beijing, covering a total area of 1,036.33 square kilometers. It administers 14 towns and six sub-district offices. In 2024, the district's GDP reached 133.48 billion yuan. By the end of 2024, its permanent population stood at 1.817 million.
Daxing has a long history, established as a county during the pre-Qin period approximately 2,400 years ago, making it one of China's earliest administrative counties.
It is one of the first key satellite districts of the capital, following the State Council's approval in 1984.
