Beijing Demonstration Center of Service for Persons with Disabilities, was established by Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation. Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation to serve the special needs of individuals with disabilities. It is now the most professional and the most comprehensive provincial-level demonstrative service institution in China. Covering 33,200 square meters over 24 floors, the center officially opened in March 2022. It serves as a major external reception and showcase unit for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics. The center’s mission is to be a “service platform with three centers and one model.” It functions not only as a comprehensive service center for people with disabilities but also as a professional disability services demonstration center, an incubator for assistive technology projects, and a training hub for professionals in disability services. It is also a model for accessible facilities across the country. The center offers a range of specialized services, including vocational rehabilitation, short-term care, child rehabilitation, adult rehabilitation, job training, art rehabilitation, inclusive cinema experiences, and more. Over the past two years, it has served over 100,000 people with disabilities. In its construction, the center adhered to the “universal design, shared spaces for all” philosophy, ensuring that the building and its information systems are fully accessible.
