Recently, British photographer Bruce Connolly turned his camera toward Beijing's Central Business District (CBD), capturing the play of light and shadow at dusk. Under the setting sun, the outlines of skyscrapers gradually come into focus, while layers of color spread across the skyline. During the shoot, he revealed Beijing's distinctive urban atmosphere and the ever-changing qualities of natural light.

Recalling his early years living in Beijing, Bruce noted that the city's energy structure at the time relied heavily on coal and diesel, often giving the sky an orange hue. Today, sustained environmental governance and urban renewal have led to very clean and clear skies, Beijing's air quality has improved markedly.
