The Temple of Confucius of Beijing and the Imperial College Museum are two historic architectural complexes on the northern part of the eastern section of Guozijian Street, near Andingmen Inner Street in Dongcheng District. Historically, the temple was used by the emperors of the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties to perform sacrifice rituals to honor Confucius. The Imperial College was China's highest-level educational and administrative institution throughout these dynasties, and is the best-preserved ancient higher education institution in China.
