Beijing’s Blue Sky Praised by the United Nations

In 2021, Beijing recorded 288 days of good air quality, or 78.9 percent of the whole year, for good air quality, notably including 114 days meeting the highest air quality standard. The city has seen continuous improvement in its air quality. Beijing's progress in air pollution control has been hailed by the United Nations Environment Programme as "Beijing Miracle". Today, blue sky and white clouds have become the norm in Beijing.
