The 2025 China Open will be held from September 14 to October 5 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing, as the first comprehensive tennis tournament in Asia to span three weeks.

The event will commence with an ITF (International Tennis Federation) J300 tournament for junior players, which is scheduled from September 14 to 21, followed by a WTA (Women's Tennis Association) 1000 tournament which will run from September 22 to October 5, and an ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) 500 tournament which will run from September 23 to October 1.

Jannik Sinner (currently ranked the No. 1 in men's singles in the world), Alexander Zverev (currently ranked the No. 3), and Daniil Medvedev (a Grand Slam champion) are among the first batch of confirmed male players. On the women's side, Aryna Sabalenka (currently ranked the No. 1), Coco Gauff (a defending champion currently ranked the No. 2) and Iga Świątek (a winner of the 2023 China Open) will compete in Beijing. The Chinese Tennis Association's team led by Zheng Qinwen (a Chinese rising star) will also join the matches.

The National Tennis Center is undergoing a grand upgrade ahead of the tournament. A new passage will open at the South Square to offer direct access to key venues like the Comprehensive Building and Shouchuang Diamond Court. On the west side, five new international-standard courts and a dedicated "Signature Zone" will allow fans to meet their favorite players up close. A clay court-themed garden-style viewing area has been planned to be developed on the east side of the Center. The "China Open Ring" at the West Square and the areas surrounding the Brad Drewett Court will be added with new resting zones. Shouchuang Diamond Court, which is the Center's largest venue, will undergo a major sound system upgrade to deliver immersive and high-definition auditory experiences.
