Located on the southeast of the National Olympic Sports Center in Beijing (PRC), China Sports Museum (CSM) was completed and open to the public in 1990, on the occasion of the Xi Asian Games. As the first comprehensive sports museum at the national level, it is affiliated with the General Administration of Sport of China.

The Museum houses more than 10,000 pieces(sets) of various sport collections, ranging from the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) to the present, covering a series of torches, medals, mascots, clothing, equipment, books, historical documents of the Olympic Games, Asian Games and other international events.

The thematic exhibitions mainly included "Chinese ancient and modern Sports", "Sports Achievements of China", "Olympic Movement" and "Traditional Chinese Sports".
