The Palace Museum's annual pass for 2025 will be available for purchase until December 31, 2024. The sale started at 20:00 on December 1. Passes can only be purchased through the WeChat mini-program (故宫博物院) of the museum. The Palace Museum has not authorized any third-party organization or individual to act as an agent for the sale of its annual passes.
1. Each visitor can purchase one pass only. Each annual pass can only be used by its purchaser, and its ownership cannot be transferred.
2. Visitors in the Chinese mainland can only purchase with their resident ID cards. Visitors from elsewhere can purchase with the following identity documents: Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, Mainland Travel Permits for Taiwan Residents, Residence Permits for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Residents, Foreign Permanent Resident ID Cards, or passports.
3. Validity period: Pass holders can visit the museum 10 times within the validity period (January 1 to December 31, 2025).
4. Price: CNY 300 each (Note that the passes do not cover the entry fees of the Gallery of Clocks and the Treasure Gallery.)
5. For better visiting experiences, holders of the 2025 annual passes must book their visits at least one day in advance through the WeChat mini-program of the museum.
6. The latest ticket-checking time for the morning session for annual pass holders is 12:00 on the booked days, and the earliest ticket-checking time for the afternoon session is 11:00 on the booked days.
7. On the day of your visit, don't forget to bring the original copy of your valid identity document used for booking, and enter the museum through the Meridian Gate (午门). Please arrive at the museum according to your booked session, or you may be unable to make the visit.
8. Each annual pass can be refunded if not used within one month from the date of purchase, meaning that any refund application after this period will not be processed. Used annual passes are non-refundable.
Notice: Chinese citizens under 18 years old (including residents of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as foreigners with permanent residency), active servicemen, firefighters, and people with disabilities can visit for free and do not need to purchase annual passes.
