As part of the development efforts for the Liangma River International Waterfront, the river's route will be extended to the section south of the 4th Ring Road. Once this 18-kilometer world-class water tourism route is open, visitors will be able to travel by boat directly to Beijing Municipal Administrative Center.

The major project of the Liangma River Economic Belt will be carried out in three phases.

The first phase will create a continuous waterfront business area, introducing a new consumption scenario characterized by coffee during the day and wine after dusk.

The second phase will focus on Chaoyang Park, with Pop Land, Goldfish Corridor, Swans' Home, Fangzhou Lake, and several other landmarks already opened and operational.

The next steps will focus on further upgrades, including the construction of Sina Weibo E-Sports Center, which is set to become the largest e-sports venue in Beijing. Chaoyang Museum of Urban Planning also plans to incorporate emerging industries and digital art initiatives, aiming to create a dynamic cultural hub for young people.

The third phase will focus on the project of Liuliwan, which aims to create a metropolitan, boundary-free waterfront park.

Other waterfront spaces, such as Tonghui Canal, the Beixiao River, Bahekou Flood Storage Area, Qingnian Road Ditch, and Daliushu Tributary, will also be unveiled in future stages.
