Beijing Huguang Guild Hall, a major historic and cultural site protected at the national level, will be renovated and open to the public by the end of this year. The renovated Huguang Guild Hall will feature cultural relics exhibition, immersive performances, and Peking Opera culture-themed catering, integrate Peking Opera with other opera forms, and create a new space for Chinese opera art experience.

The guild hall designs the whole architectural space with the historical elements of Beijing’s guild halls and the Xuannan Culture. In addition, the guild hall also innovates the exhibition space by combining ancient architectural space with Peking Opera performance space, so as to promote the re-utilization of the ancient building and the inheriting of intangible cultural heritages.

After renovation, Xiangxian Ancestral Hall and Wenchang Pavilion will be transformed into a digital exhibition hall of Chinese opera, showing Chinese opera culture via digital technology. And Baoshantang will be restored as a cultural meeting room. Moreover, the guild hall will introduce Beijing’s time-honored restaurants and Peking Opera-themed tea shop, showing Chinese-style life aesthetics.

In addition, Huguang Guild Hall solicits its logo, themed cultural innovation products, and opera performance cooperation projects from the public from June 10 to July 10, and will announce the results in early August.
