As the most crucial sector of the three key industries in Mentougou District, the artificial intelligence (AI) industry stands as an important pillar for the industrial transformation and upgrading of Mentougou District. According to Jie Huancheng, Member of the CPC Leadership Group of the Mentougou District People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Deputy Mayor of Mentougou District, the District is striving to build the "Wisdom Valley in Western Beijing" with a focus on the emerging AI industry. It has launched strategic cooperation with the Zhongguancun Development Group, Huawei, Baidu and others to build a top-notch AI innovation park—"Zhongguancun (western Beijing) Artificial Intelligence Sci-Tech Park"—in the Zhongguancun Mentougou Park situated at the western end of Chang'an Avenue, and has hosted the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation and Development Conference, Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industrial Innovation and Development Talent Summit Forum and other signature events.

In 2021, Mentougou District planned to build a futuristic "5G+8K" ultra-high-definition (UHD) demonstration park in the core area of the new landmark of the capital city's revival located on the west side of the New Shougang Bridge and the north side of the west extension of Chang'an Avenue. After completion, Mentougou District will bring world-class UHD digital audio-visual cultural industry clusters together, becoming a new first-rate hub for digital culture.

Mentougou District is also working on building an international center for cardiovascular medical equipment. The Fuwai Hospital (Xishan), positioned as a "National Medical Center," is speeding up its second phase construction, and it has achieved win-win cooperation with the Baheal Medical Scientific Research Achievements Transformation Base, Tongrentang E-Commerce, and Beijing Jingdiao Group, a "hidden champion" in the field of precision manufacturing, to build an international center for the cardiovascular medical device industry and innovation.

On March 17 this year, the "West Chang'an FUNWORLD", the largest commercial complex in Mentougou District, made its smooth debut. It is connected by Beijing's first maglev rail line S1 with the other two commercial complexes, namely the Financial Street Joy Place and Longhu Paradise Walk on Chang'an Avenue. Together with the Hetan Business District and Tangu Business District, the three commercial complexes become a new consumption landmark in western Beijing, contributing to Beijing's efforts to build itself into an international center for consumption.
