From September 24 to 27, the 2026 Beijing Animation Festival will be held at the Beijing Exhibition Center. This year's event will feature one main forum and four parallel sub-forums focusing on four areas: high-quality content creation, technological innovation, industry integration and international communication.

Under the theme "AI Animation in Beijing: Moving the Industry Forward" (北京Ai动画，产业向新行), the main forum will bring together industry experts to discuss high-quality development in the animation sector and innovation in animation production technology. The parallel sub-forums will explore high-quality animation production, innovative applications of technology, industry integration, international communication and market expansion.

More than 30 leading Chinese animation companies and institutions will be invited to the event. Popular original franchises, including "Non-Human", "A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality", "Nailoong", "The Legend of Hei" and "The Degenerate-Drawing Jianghu", will be showcased together.

The festival will feature five themed zones: the Top IP Zone, City Partner Zone, Creator Zone, Trendy Toy Zone and Illustration Zone. Activities will include interactions with popular animation characters, meet-and-greet sessions with well-known creative teams and sales of limited-edition merchandise.

The festival will also continue to showcase and screen a selection of high-quality animated works from September to November through both online and offline events. Online screenings will be available on platforms including iQIYI and YOUKU, as well as on television channels, while offline screenings will take place at cinemas and community venues across Beijing.
