On the afternoon of September 13, the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) held its closing press conference. As of noon on September 13, its core activity area had recorded nearly 420,000 visits, up 36.6 percent year on year.
This year's CIFTIS successfully hosted 200 forums, conferences, and promotion and matchmaking events, with carefully curated theme exhibitions and nine specialized exhibitions, attracting more than 1,830 enterprises to exhibit offline and over 5,300 enterprises to exhibit online.
On September 9, the Global Trade in Services Summit was held at Shougang Park. For the first time, this edition was co-hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the Ministry of Commerce in partnership with two international organizations, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), bringing together around 800 guests from nearly 40 countries and regions. In their remarks, representatives from multiple countries called for deeper investment cooperation to promote mutual benefit and shared prosperity.
In the theme exhibition areas at Shougang Park, cutting-edge developments in fields such as digital and intelligent manufacturing, cell therapy, technology and finance, and green new infrastructure were showcased alongside emerging areas of interest, including cross-border logistics, cultural outreach, the sports event economy and two-way study abroad. A total of 473 Fortune Global 500 firms and industry-leading enterprises exhibited offline, accounting for nearly 26 percent of all offline exhibitors; 320 companies included in industry rankings also took part.
In the Achievements Release Zone, countdown timers on the big screens repeatedly reached zero. A total of 103 enterprises and institutions unveiled 233 achievements, including 119 new-product launches, 35 authoritative releases, 22 key project releases, 43 outstanding case studies, and 14 professional ranking releases.
In addition, international organizations held 22 forums, conferences, and promotion-and-matchmaking events—an increase of four from the previous edition. Nearly 200 heads of international organizations, vice-ministerial officials from China and abroad, academicians, and senior executives of multinational companies engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including building a new framework for mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, cross-sector collaboration in services, digital-real economy integration, service consumption and green low-carbon transition.
The Trading and Matchmaking Zone rolled out multiple measures to unlock a wealth of business opportunities. The fair hosted 134 promotion and matchmaking events, an increase of nearly 80 percent year on year. A total of 74 Chinese central state-owned enterprises, 16 central financial enterprises and industry associations brought delegations to conduct negotiations on site. Meanwhile, 2,640 pieces of supply-and-demand information were released, attracting about 116,000 registered professional visitors, up 3.7 percent year on year. The event has provided enterprises with tangible opportunities for cooperation.
