On the evening of June 26 (GMT-4), the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, the government of the District of Columbia, and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States of America jointly hosted the "Beijing-District of Columbia Concert in Commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of Sister City Relationship". Over 400 guests from various sectors in Washington, D.C. attended the event.

At the concert, the artists performed not only Chinese folk songs such as "Jasmine Flower", "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon" and "Spring Moonlight on the Flowers by the River", but also American country songs including "500 Miles" and "Oh, Susanna" with traditional Chinese instruments. The artists' spectacular performances received thunderous applause from the audience.
