Zhongguancun Science City

Located in northwestern Beijing, Zhongguancun Science City primarily encompasses the 174-square-kilometer Zhongguancun Haidian Park, with its coverage extended to the entire Haidian District and parts of Changping District, including the Life Science Park. It is the core area of Beijing International Center for Science and Technology Innovation.

The Zhongguancun Science City boasts renowned universities and research institutes represented by Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Chinese Academy of Sciences, embracing rich resources for fundamental research. The R&D institutions it hosts, such as the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences and Beijing Academy of Blockchain and Edge Computing, generate infinite vitality leveraging their flexible systems and mechanisms. The high-end, high-precision, and advanced industries, represented by the big information and big health sectors, continuously play a leading and demonstrative role, fostering the high quality regional development.

Innovation platforms such as university science parks and incubators for innovative startups continue to emerge, while innovation-related factors, including equity investment institutions, intellectual property service providers, talent service agencies, and industry alliances and associations, are rapidly converging, further improving the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

A number of renowned technology companies, including Baidu, Xiaomi, and Lenovo, have expanded to the global market from here, while emerging industry leaders such as ByteDance, Cambricon Technologies, and Megvii have risen rapidly. A vibrant "innovation rainforest" ecosystem is taking shape, and Haidian's mass entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration base has received commendations from the State Council for five consecutive years.
