Recently, 4 to 6 yellow-breasted buntings (Emberiza aureola) were observed in phase II of the Songzhuang flood storage and detention area. This discovery not only represents the biodiversity of this region, but also reflects the continuous improvement of the ecological environment in the second-phase flood storage zone.

According to data, the number of bird species recorded in phase II of the Songzhuang flood storage and detention area has now reached almost 55. In addition to the yellow-breasted buntings, other waterfowl such as mallards and spot-billed ducks have also been observed.
