The 8th Chinese Opera Culture Week kicked off at Beijing Garden Expo Park on September 27 and will run until October 3. A total of 48 professional Chinese opera troupes from across China have been invited to perform in Beijing, with wonderful, professional shows and interactive experiences. Beijing Color Lantern Festival, the biggest celebration of its kind in Beijing, is also underway and waiting for your visit.

In addition, the 2024 "Grand Performances in Beijing" Season will present the "Legend of the White Snake", a Beijing Opera by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA). Beijing Performing Arts Centre is staging the musical "Anna Karenina" in Russian version by Moscow Modern Art Theatre. The National Cultural Palace Grand Theatre will also stage the dance drama "Carmen" by the Ballet Español de Murcia. The theatre at Beijing Exhibition Center will feature passionate Bollywood-themed dance performances of Indian classic films, presented by Bollywood Film and Dance Troupe. Also, NCPA's music hall will host a concert titled "Greetings from Vienna" by Vienna Boys' Choir.

From October 2 to 4, the 3rd Beijing International Canal Arts Fest will also be held! Popular bands, top dance troupes and DJs from 12 countries including Australia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States will join their Chinese counterparts to light up the event with performing genres like rock, pop, folk, jazz, blues, world music, folk songs and dances, techno, and house!

On October 5, the opening concert of the 27th Beijing Music Festival will take place at NCPA. Renowned composer Tan Dun will conduct the China National Symphony Orchestra, joined by suona player Liu Wenwen, violinist Lu Wei, and cellist Wang Jian, to perform classical musical pieces including the Chinese traditional masterpiece "A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix", Stravinsky's "The Firebird" suite, Tan Dun's "Secret of Wind and Birds", Ravel's "Bolero", and other music pieces.
