Beijing Century-old World Telephone Museum, established in 2006, is the only telephone museum in China. More than 100 years after the invention of the telephone, it houses a collection of more than 2,000 telephones, as well as over 2,000 valuable historical pictures, documents, and materials from dozens of countries. Items in the museum comprehensively and systematically reflect the century-long development of the telephone since it was invented in the 1870s.
Beijing Century-old World Telephone Museum is located on the 4th floor of Taifu Building, No. 10 Dewai Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, and is the only professional museum in China that reflects the global development of the telephone. The museum's collection of telephones comes from more than 100 countries and regions on six continents and covers more than 100 brands from nearly 50 countries that have made outstanding contributions to the development of the telephone.
In addition to telephone sets, there are telephone-themed stamps from nearly 100 countries around the world and telephone cards from dozens of countries. It also has hundreds of phone books reflecting the development of telephones from different periods, countries, and regions, as well as different provinces, cities, and organizations in China. Furthermore, it houses thousands of other related items and precious historical materials witnessing the development of the telephone. Beijing Century-old World Telephone Museum has also developed an array of telephone or communication product-based cultural and creative products for the public.
