"Beijing Dough Figurine" (listed as an intangible cultural heritage at the Haidian district, municipal, and national levels) has been handed down from its originator Lang Shao'an to several generations of his family over more than 100 years. Drawing on a wide selection of talents, a dough sculpture art school with strong regional characteristics of Beijing has been formed through innovation and development. It integrates art, sculpture, costume, makeup, and modeling, and is famous for its wide range of subjects, vivid shapes, realistic images, simple decoration, and exquisite skills. The works presenting opera characters and Beijing folk customs are especially unique with strong artistic and folklore value for collection.
