In Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, several transportation projects are underway. Construction has been fully resumed for UBR (Universal Beijing Resort) North Integrated Transportation Hub and Tongma Road Integrated Transportation Hub, which are expected to be ready for use by the end of 2024. It is worth mentioning that these two hubs have adopted an integrated development approach. That is to say, each transportation hub will be equipped with five-star hotels, commercial facilities and gardens on its top, and serves as a core center that provides passengers with subway and bus transportation services. Therefore, they will become not only key transportation hubs but also important business centers for UBR and the surrounding residential areas.

It is learned that the construction of these two projects has been completely resumed. The front-line staff members have been making great efforts since the Spring Festival this year.

UBR North Integrated Transportation Hub, situated to the north of UBR and near Qunfang Station on Line 7 of Beijing Subway, has a total construction area of approximately 85,000 square meters and a total land area of about 22,000 square meters, with a height of about 24 meters (45 meters for some parts). This integrated transportation hub will enable passengers to transfer between Line 7 of Beijing Subway, five to six bus routes, and several public parking lots.

According to the architectural rendering, UBR North Integrated Transportation Hub will have a more aesthetic overall shape and facades and serve as an urban landscape, which is distinct from the transportation hubs built so far. It is said that in addition to five-star hotels and commercial facilities, gardens will be built on top of the hub, which will extend to all directions of the city to form an open and green public space.

UBR North Integrated Transportation Hub will also make it more convenient for citizens to choose public transportation modes and transfer between private vehicles and subway. The hub is equipped with parking spaces connected with Qunfang Station of Line 7 of Beijing Subway to meet the public's needs concerning transportation transfer and car-parking during rush hours.

According to the constructor of UBR North Integrated Transportation Hub, the concrete pad footing and foundation waterproofing have been underway after the basic completion of soil stabilization work in terms of excavation, backfill, site formation, drainage, precipitation, soil nail walls, etc. Other aspects of construction are under progress as well. Currently, more than 300 people have been working on this construction project. Its main structure is expected to be completed by this October, while the interior decoration, curtain wall construction, and installation of electro-mechanical devices will start at the end of 2023, with the final completion and inspection scheduled for the end of 2024.

Tongma Road Integrated Transportation Hub, another project under development in Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, has also seen a full-scale resumption of construction. The hub is situated three kilometers west to and two subway stations away from UBR North Integrated Transportation Hub. Although the two hubs are relatively close to each other, their functions vary slightly. UBR North Integrated Transportation Hub serves more tourists, while Tongma Road Integrated Transportation Hub adjacent to several residential blocks mainly serves urban commuting needs.

Tongma Road Integrated Transportation Hub is located in the northwest corner of the cultural tourism zone of Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, near Wansheng West Station of Line 7 of Beijing Subway. The hub has a total construction area of about 176,200 square meters and a total land area of about 5.6 hectares, with a height limit of 36 meters (45 meters for some parts).

Hotels and commercial facilities will likewise be built on the top of this hub. After its completion, the hub can offer citizens various means of transportation, including rail transit, buses, taxis, cars and bicycles. Moreover, retail stores of innovative products, public art spaces, and other types of facilities will be added to the hub through integrated and comprehensive development.

The raft slabs in the main building areas of the hub's Zone A and Zone C have been completed, with the soil stabilization work in terms of excavation, backfill, site formation, drainage, precipitation, soil nail walls, etc. basically finished. The main structure is expected to be completed on September 30, 2023, and the interior decoration will start at the end of 2023, with the final completion and inspection scheduled for the end of 2024.

The two integrated transportation hubs' underground structures are currently under construction and are expected to be ready for use by the end of 2024.

The construction of the transportation facilities of Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, which are among the public's most anticipated facilities, is steadily progressing. The most important facilities among them are undoubtedly the integrated transportation hubs, including a mega hub known as "Beijing Chengshi Fuzhongxin Railway Station", and the small and medium-sized hubs in some areas, such as the aforementioned UBR North Integrated Transportation Hub and Tongma Road Integrated Transportation Hub. These are all under construction. The network of subway lines and bus routes are being progressively improved. The increasing number of hubs will provide more transportation convenience for citizens. As these facilities are being completed and put into use, the blueprint of Beijing Municipal Administrative Center will gradually become a reality.
