Beijing's Talent Retention Index Ranks 5th in World

On October 15, the 2024 China-Europe Talent Forum was held in Beijing. This event included the release of the Global City Talent Retention Index 2024, as well as the launch of several China-Europe talent cooperation projects.

The Global City Talent Retention Index 2024 assesses the environment for talent development and talent attractiveness of 120 cities in 41 countries worldwide from six dimensions: economy, innovation, culture and openness, environment and health, social welfare, and life quality. In the summary list for 2024, Beijing ranks fifth among major cities in the world, making it the only Chinese city ranking among the top 10 for five consecutive years.

Beijing Municipal Talent Work Bureau, Beijing Association for Science and Technology and the China Center for International Science and Technology Exchange jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation on supporting the establishment of international science and technology organizations in Beijing. Through this move, they seek to facilitate the gathering of such organizations in Beijing, guide high-caliber international science and technology exchange events to be held in the city, and jointly encourage sci-tech talented minds from around the globe to contribute to the development of Beijing as an international science and technology innovation center.

Beijing Overseas Talents Center, leveraging the "Contact Beijing - Global Network for Innovation Services" (GNIS) platform, is teaming up with Xicheng District to establish the "GNIS China-Europe Innovation Center". This collaboration fully capitalizes on the advantages of resources, such as the New Actuation Fintech Center, the "Giant Port" national service platform for specialized, refined, differential and innovative "little giant" firms, and Potevio Desheng Incubator, to create a broad stage for young talented individuals from both sides to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship.

Peking University and Switzerland-based Adecco Grouphave officially unveiled their internship base, aiming to establish a robust mechanism for cultivating international talented minds. By providing internship opportunities, professional internship guidance, career counseling, etc., the base is expected to facilitate positive interaction between educational institutions and enterprises and enhance the global career development capabilities of outstanding young students.
