Five Haunted Mazes Arrive with Expanded "Scares"

Universal Beijing Resort joins hands with Nanpai Sanshu to bring The Grave Robbers' Chronicles to life for the first time as a haunted maze that visitors can immerse themselves in a multisensory real-world experience. Visitors will step into a fantastical world and follow in the footsteps of Wu Xie, Zhang Qiling and Wang Pangzi, fighting to survive and make it out alive on their own terms as readers' favorite story moments become reality before their eyes.

In another first for the seasonal event Scares @ Universal, Universal Beijing Resort lets the mist of White Sand Street enter reality. The battle between "hunters" and "survivors" will unfold in the haunted maze: Identity V–Escape from White Sand Street, where visitors will follow the clues toward the truth.

In addition, haunted maze: A Quiet Place, inspired by the classic Hollywood thriller, will arrive in silence, as a challenge built around stillness that quietly descends. Inside highly authentic scenes recreated from the movie, every sense will be heightened as visitors immerse themselves in a post-apocalyptic world where danger waits around every corner.

Furthermore, returning by popular demand, Universal Monsters Crypt and The House of Hua Pi, the latter inspired by Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, will also welcome visitors back for another round of challenges.

The five haunted mazes will operate from 17:00 to 22:00 daily (queue cut) on Scares @ Universal nighttime experience opening days. No online reservation or separate ticket is required; visitors may simply join the queue on site for direct entry.

Four Scare Zones Bring the Party to Life

The surprises continue as four scare zones receive comprehensive upgrades, featuring spectacular live performances, high-energy dancing to the beat and all-new photo spots designed for striking content.

Scare Zone: Mel's Die In sweeps visitors into a time warp outside Mel's Diner, now freshly decked out. Scare Zone: M3GAN will take over the streets and perform their iconic dance. Scare Zone: Kill Cute Party returns as Emo Tu and Foxy Lady gather near the Majestic Theater, joined by special guest HamiKuma. In addition, the all-new Scaremony Underworld Uprising will make a powerful debut: as a portal cracks open amid the ruins, a mysterious arrival ceremony will lead visitors into an after-dark spectacle, followed by the full presentation of Scare Zone: Underworld.

During the 2026 Scares @ Universal event, nighttime experiences including themed performances and haunted mazes will be open for a limited time from Thursday through the following Monday each week. The experiences will not be available on September 17, October 1 and October 8, and will additionally be available on September 16, September 30, October 6 and October 28. For specific operating dates and times, visitors may check the nighttime experience calendar through official channels including the Universal Beijing Resort's official app, Alipay mini-program and WeChat mini-program. Universal Beijing Resort would like to remind visitors that Universal on Parade will be temporarily suspended from August 31 to November 6, 2026.
