As summer kicks into high gear, Beijing's major city parks are rolling out over 200 new cultural events. Whether you're a family looking to escape the heat or a group of friends hunting for new experiences, Beijing parks have a packed summer lineup just for you.
Cultural Activities in the Parks
Zizhuyuan Park
From June 24 to July 21, the One Park, One Theme cultural events and the 28th Lotus Festival will be held at Beihai Park, featuring themed photography exhibitions and lotus boat cruises.
From late July to late August, Zizhuyuan Park will celebrate the 31st Bamboo and Lotus Cultural Season.
Olympic Forest Park

A sunflower exhibition was already launched at theOlympic Forest Parkon June 27, which will run until July 28.
Throughout July and August, Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park will host an activity themed Summer Beats and Splash Fest, where music, food, drinks, and water activities come together for a refreshing summer adventure.
Traditional Folk Activities
Temple of Heaven Park
On July 27, the Temple of Heaven Park will organize a fan-painting workshop, inviting visitors to explore the architecture in the park and paint on traditional Chinese fans.
Youth Lake Park, Dongcheng District
In July, Youth Lake Park will celebrate Qixi (the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day) with lectures on ancient traditions for this festival and workshops dedicated to traditional crafts like fan-making.
On August 10, Liuyin Park will host a special Qixi workshop where visitors can learn and practice traditional weaving techniques.
From July to August, the Grand Canal Forest Park will offer a workshop where visitors can create their own cloisonné bookmarks.
Summer Night Activities
Mutianyu Great Wall
From July 1 to August 31, the Great Wall at Mutianyu will be open for evening visits from 7 pm to 10 pm, offering visitors extended hours to explore the Great Wall and participate in special evening activities.
Every Friday and Saturday from June 28 to August 31, Juyongguan Great Wall will host evening events featuring live music under the stars.
From June 25 to August 25, Longqing Gorge will host a series of summer night events, featuring music beer festivals and a soccer championship celebration night.
From June to August, Olympic Forest Park will host evening tennis events themed Chaoyang Nights Under the Lights from 9 pm to 11 pm every Tuesday to Friday.
Longtan Zhonghu Park
From early July to late September, Longtan Zhonghu Park will host Ferris Wheel Nights with activities such as informal concerts, outdoor cinemas, forest markets, and flea markets.
Every Friday and Saturday from June 8 to September 30, Xiangshan Park will present a Xiangshan Nights activity.
