The Beijing Symphony Orchestra has officially unveiled its 2026‑2027 music season based on the theme of "A Century of Titans". Running from September 2026 to July 2027, the season will feature 20 concerts at Beijing Concert Hall, Concert Hall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Concert Hall of Beijing Performing Arts Centre and Multi-functional Theatre of NCPA. The programmes will span symphony, opera, chamber music and other genres, organized under five artistic sections: Boundless Stage: Opera, Image & Cross-Genre; Chinese Narrative: New Voices of the Ancient Capital; Echoes of Time: Commemoration & Tribute; A Century of Symphonies: Genealogy of Masters; Visions of the World: Nations & Cities.
At the opening concert, music director Yang Yang will conduct Mozart's Symphony No.41 "Jupiter" to mark the 270th anniversary of the composer's birth. The season will conclude with Mahler's Symphony No.1 "Titan". From "Jupiter" to "Titan", and from Classicism to Romanticism, the season traces a remarkable century in the development of symphonic music.
