On July 21, "Memory and Future: Contemporary Italian Art", a major international exhibition celebrating the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, opened to the public at the Guardian Art Center in Beijing. The exhibition features nearly 100 modern and contemporary Italian artworks by 38 artists, spanning painting, sculpture, installation, photography and mixed media.

Upon entering the exhibition hall, visitors are greeted by two rare still‑life etchings created by Giorgio Morandi in 1933 and 1954. One of the most influential still-life painters of the 20th century, Morandi rejected bold, vivid colors and developed his signature muted palette, which later became widely known as the Morandi color palette. Prints from Lucio Fontana's iconic "Spatial Concept" series and his bronze sculpture "Mujer con mascara" are also on display.

In addition to masterpieces by renowned artists, the exhibition presents contemporary works, including Matteo Basile's galaxy-inspired diptychs, Enzo Cacciola's "Beijing" series, and Luca Pozzi's video works, creating a dialogue across generations and artistic visions. The exhibition will run through September 9.
