The 10th Beijing International Art Biennale is set to open on December 29, 2025, at the Beijing Exhibition Center. Based on the theme of "Coexistence", this year's Biennale is going to run until January 28, 2026.
The exhibition plans to showcase approximately 600 contemporary artworks from nearly 120 countries and regions. It adopts a format of thematic exhibitions, special exhibitions, and country-focused exhibitions, addressing topics such as peaceful development and ecological civilization, aiming to effectively tell the stories of Beijing, China, and the world. The exhibited works encompass not only traditional art forms like painting and sculpture, but also highlight categories such as digital art and video. The goal of the event is to explore new concepts in artistic creation, nurture outstanding artists, and enhance the international discourse power and influence of contemporary Chinese art.
The academic symposium of this Biennale will be upgraded to the "First Beijing Biennale International Art Conference", which will invite art theorists, curators, artists, as well as directors from art galleries and museums worldwide, creating a platform for dialogue and mutual learning among civilizations in the art world.
Since it began back in 2002, the Beijing International Art Biennale has become an important platform for showcasing the openness and inclusiveness of contemporary Chinese culture and promoting exchanges and mutual learning among world civilizations.
