A special mural art exhibition featuring the murals of Dunhuang and Fahai Temple has opened at the "Root of Hutong" Cultural Experience Center, located at No. 33 Zhuanta Hutong (砖塔胡同) in Xicheng District. The exhibition offers a unique cultural dialogue spanning a thousand years and will run until February 14, 2026, open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.

The exhibition showcases the dedicated work of Professor Su Bodou, instructor of the mural art workshop of the International College, Central Academy of Fine Arts, who has spent nearly a decade creating these pieces. For the first time, mural art from the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang and from the Fahai Temple is being presented side by side, sharing a profound artistic lineage.

Moving forward, the center plans to host a series of art exhibitions and in-depth study tour programs covering themes such as murals, porcelain, calligraphy, painting, and intangible cultural heritage. A tea house with Chinese characteristics and the "Root of Hutong" cultural and creative gift shop have also opened alongside the exhibition.

Grounded in the urban cultural unit of hutong, the center aims to establish itself as a distinctive artistic platform for exchange and a new landmark for cultural life in Xicheng District. Through ongoing cultural exhibitions and study tour activities, it seeks to revitalize cultural heritage within contemporary life.
