As the National Day holiday (October 1 to 7) draws near, Beijing will experience annual peak traffic, with maximum passenger flow on October 1.

The outbound highway traffic peak will occur from the afternoon of September 30 to the morning of October 1, while the inbound peak is expected on October 6 and 7. The evening rush hour today (September 30) will start earlier at 15:00, with peak volume expected around 16:00 to 18:00. Traffic congestion will be most severe from 9:00 to 11:00 on October 1. From October 6 to 7, peak-level traffic is expected to last from 13:00 to 18:00.

The toll-free period for expressways will run from 0:00 on October 1 to 24:00 on October 7. Small passenger vehicles with seven or fewer seats, including motorcycles permitted on ordinary toll roads, may travel on expressways free of charge.

Heavy passenger flows are expected at the city's eight major railway stations and two airports, bringing substantial traffic pressure during night hours. In anticipation of this, eight subway lines (Lines 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, 19 and the Daxing Airport Express) will adopt an interconnected extended schedule during the travel peak, with the latest service ending at 2:00 the next day.

Specifically,

- Lines 4 and 14: The service hours of trains departing from Beijingnan Zhan (Beijing South Railway Station) will be extended until midnight on September 30, October 1 and October 5, and until 2:00 the next day on October 6 and 7.

- Line 7: The service hours of trains departing from Beijingxi Zhan (Beijing West Railway Station) will be extended until midnight on October 5 and until 2:00 the next day on October 6 and 7.

- Line 10: The service hours of trains departing from Fengtai Railway Station will be extended to 2:00 the next day on October 6 and 7.

- Line 3: The service hours of trains departing from Chaoyang Railway Station will be extended until midnight on September 30 and until 2:00 the next day on October 5, 6 and 7.

- Line 2: The service hours of trains departing from Beijing Zhan (Beijing Railway Station) will be extended to 2:00 the next day on October 6 and 7.

- Daxing Airport Express: The service hours of trains departing from Daxing Jichang (Daxing Airport) will be extended to midnight on September 30, October 6 and October 7.

- Line 19: The service hours of trains departing from Caoqiao to Mudanyuan will last until 0:30 the next day on October 6 and 7.

According to the extended-hour operation plan, transfer services will be available across all these lines on the final two days of the holiday (October 6 and 7) to facilitate long-distance passenger trips.
