Beijing has entered its spring pollen season, slightly earlier than last year, as confirmed by recent monitoring results from the Pollen Research Laboratory of the Allergy Center at Beijing Shijitan Hospital.
Experts remind the public that early intervention is more effective than treatment after symptoms appear. Nasal corticosteroid sprays, and oral and nasal antihistamines are currently the first-line preferences for prevention and treatment.
As the pollen peak season approaches, daily protection is also crucial. Experts recommend the following measures for those prone to allergies:
·Wear a mask and goggles when outdoors.
·Upon returning home, change your outer clothing immediately, rinse your nasal passages with saline solution, and clean your face.
·Minimize outdoor activities during periods of high pollen concentration.
