With autumn in full swing, the pink muhly grass (hairawn muhly) is now in its peak viewing season. Here is your guide to a delightful pink-themed journey, exclusive to Beijing!
Beijing Wenyuhe Park ("Memories of an Ancient City" / 故城记忆)
Here, the seasonal landscape is a stunning blend of misty, dreamy hues of pink muhly grass flowers, golden sunflowers, and ripening rice paddies shifting from green to gold in the autumn light. These three layers of color create a striking fall spectacle with flower fields and pastoral landscapes side by side.

Recommended route: Enter through Gate No. 83 → Walk straight for 300 meters to the Qinggeng Yudu (晴耕雨读) sunflower and rice paddy area → Stroll along the riverside walkway to reach the pink muhly grass fields → Take in the views from the waterside wooden boardwalk before heading back the same way.
Beijing Olympic Forest Park (North Zone)

By day, the Huatian Yequ (花田野趣) area is alive with color. The West Flower Field features garden cosmos and yellow cosmos in full bloom, while in the East Flower Field, layer upon layer of pink muhly grass flowers unfold like soft clouds, with their mist-like pink plumes adding a touch of elegance to the landscape.
After dusk, the flower fields take on a new look. Interactive lantern riddle installations, festive lanterns, the "Lingering Osmanthus Fragrance" (桂韵流芳) display board, and more are all illuminated, creating a warm atmosphere. Dynamic sets of lanterns crafted with intangible cultural heritage techniques gently twinkle and rotate, setting the scene for a different kind of charm.
