On March 29, the "Memorial Performance Season Celebrating Beijing People's Art Theatre's 70th Anniversary" was launched. In the next three months, plays including Cai Wenji, White Deer Plain, Teahouse, Ruan Lingyu, The "Caine" Mutiny Court-Martial, Sunrise and Our Jing Ke will be performed for the upcoming 70th anniversary of Beijing People's Art Theatre on June 12.

Thunderstorm created in 1933 by Cao Yu was the first play during the event, which has been performed on stage over 600 times in the past 68 years. The cast includes veteran performers and relatively new additions as well.
