Most people would think that the best places to enjoy Beijing's spring splendor are parks, streets and alleys. In fact, many museums across the city are home to unique seasonal spectacles—let's take a look!


I. Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture

The museum is a national-level museum dedicated to the art of traditional Chinese gardens, showcasing the long history, rich cultural legacies, diverse functions, and remarkable achievements of Chinese garden and landscape architecture.

From late March to mid-April, flowers here, such as Chinese wild peach, magnolia, and purple-leaf plum, will be at their peak season.

Peach blossoms are now at their best in the Peach Blossom Valley (桃花谷). The 4th Guochao Carnival (第四届国潮嘉年华) is also underway, featuring fantasy circus shows, immersive mission-based activity inspired by a popular supernatural fiction called Fan Xian Ji, a market with foods and creative souvenirs, as well as hands-on intangible cultural heritage activities like lacquer fan making, kite crafting, and stone rubbing.

The International Sci-Fi and Future Tech Expo Beijing 2026 will take place from March 27 to 29 at Hall 1 of Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center, presenting the latest achievements in the field of science fiction and a chance for visitors to experience the perfect fusion of cutting-edge technologies and the charm of science fiction in one stop.


II. Beijing Art Museum

Located within Wanshou Temple, the museum houses a diverse collection of artworks. The magnolia blossoms here are at their best from mid to late March. The ongoing Magnolia Season (through March 25) presents many magnolia-themed souvenirs that integrate the meaning of spring flowers into creative cultural industry.

With winter jasmine, magnolia, and Chinese wild peach flowers reflected on peaceful waters, this park offers an elegant and picturesque spring scenery.


III. Beijing Stone Carving Art Museum

The Imperial Waterway has resumed its operation. Each boat departs from the Beijing Zoo (Haidian) dock and arrives at the South Ruyi Dock of the Summer Palace.

IV. National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature
