On December 14, three ice climbing sites at Yudu Mountain Scenic Area in Yanqing District officially opened to the public. The ice season is expected to last until mid-March next year, thanks to its high-altitude terrain and natural icefalls.

The three ice climbing sites are at two different locations: Sites No. 1 and No. 3 are located opposite the tourist service center, while Site No. 2 is on the south side of Wangyou Lake dam.

Ice climbing difficulty is generally graded using the "WI" system, with higher numbers indicating greater difficulty.

Site No. 1 functions as a professional ice climbing training area, featuring an icefall of 55 meters high and 30 meters wide. It offers over 15 routes graded from WI2 to WI5, and can accommodate up to 40 climbers simultaneously. This area primarily targets experienced enthusiasts and professional climbers, with certified instructors providing high-level technical guidance and training.

Many visitors have been drawn to the ice climbing sites of Yudu Mountain.

Site No. 2 is designed as a public experience-oriented training zone, with an ice fall of 35 meters high and 80 meters wide. It provides more than 30 routes graded from WI2 to WI3 and can host up to 160 people at the same time. This area caters to students, families, and beginners, offering equipment rental and introductory instruction.

Site No. 3, meanwhile, is an ice slope training area, featuring a 30-meter-high slope with an incline of approximately 30 degrees. It is suitable for mountaineering trainees or student groups preparing for snow-mountain expeditions.

During the ice climbing season, the scenic area will also host special events such as an ice climbing carnival, themed winter camps, and club competitions, offering multi-level, professional ice climbing experiences for those who love winter sports.
