The 2025 Beijing Lotus Culture Festival and the 25th Lianhuachi Park Lotus Culture Festival kicked off on June 28 and will run until late August.
This year, the Lianhuachi Park (Lotus Pond Park) has prepared more than 7,000 potted lotus plants that span an exhibition area of over 30,000 sqm. More than 320 lotus varieties and 60 types of water lilies are on display.
For the first time, the park showcases 20 new lotus varieties independently developed and cultivated by its team, filling the gap in Beijing's lotus breeding. Several parks in Hebei Province have also selected lotus varieties for a joint exhibition, highlighting the beauty of lotus flowers from both Beijing and Hebei.
The festival has specially invited seasoned bonsai experts to create a series of miniature lotus bonsai, offering citizens a new option for lotus cultivation.
