They are blooming! Recently, the wintersweet in the North Garden of the China National Botanical Garden bloomed quietly, with more flowers appearing day by day. Winter jasmine and Chinese wild peach have also bloomed earlier, long before the advent of spring. So, what's going on here?

According to the staff there, most wintersweet trees in Beijing bloom in early spring, with February being the peak period. However, recently due to the continuous rise in temperature after a cold wave, wintersweet trees have mistakenly believed that early spring has arrived, resulting in a large number of early blooms. Besides wintersweet, other spring flowering plants such as Chinese wild peach and winter jasmine are also budding in this slightly warm early winter.
